Our Environment

Social and emotional development in the early years, also referred to as early childhood mental health, refers to children's emerging capacity to:

  • Experience, regulate and express a range of emotions.

  • Develop close, satisfying relationships with other children and adults.

  • Actively explore their environment and learn.

Infant Care

We accept infants beginning as early as 6 weeks old.  To ensure quality care we have limited our availability to 10 beds for each of our two infant rooms.  We conform to each child’s individual schedule and allow them to eat, nap, and play on demand.

Kindergarten Readiness

Our teaching staff begin to gear our little minds for the shift to elementary school.  We cover an array of topics including:

  • Phonics: Language and Literacy development.

  • Cognition and general knowledge (including simple early mathematics).

  • Social and emotional development.

  • Physical well-being and motor development.

  • Approaches toward learning.

Language & Literacy

Language and literacy development are major domains of early childhood development. They involve development of the skills used to communicate with others through languages (language development), as well as the ability to read and write (literacy development).  We have daily learning time, including sign language for our younger classes, along with writing and phonics that develop into reading for our older classes.  We also include introducing Spanish for the Pre-K.

Toddler & Preschool Care

Beginning at age 12 months and up to 5 years of age, we begin to incorporate a more structured learning environment.  Each class offers a curriculum suited for their proper age group and developmental level, with new material being introduced on a bi-weekly basis.

Learning Approaches

That buzz you hear in the classroom is the wonderful sound of children learning.  All forms of communication are encouraged at Wee Care, from listening and speaking to reading and writing. This makes for a language-rich and highly expressive atmosphere at the school, one that nurtures every child’s sense of confidence in what he or she has to say as well as in how it is said.
